PICC Qualification / PICC Certification Program
Commonly referred to as “PICC Certification”
Our PICC Qualification Program (commonly referred to as PICC certification) is the most comprehensive PICC training program of its kind. This evidence-based program is taught by currently practicing PICC nurses who are CRNI (Certified Registered Nurse Infusion) and/or VA-BC (Vascular Access-Board Certified) credentialed. The clinical (PICC precepting) component of our program offers the opportunity for actual patient contact and “hands-on” PICC insertions with a PICC Qualified clinical preceptor in an acute care setting.
PICC Certification vs. PICC Qualification…what is the difference?
Traditionally, healthcare providers and clinicians become “qualified” to perform procedures on patients. When an employer asks for a certificate of “PICC Certification” they are in essence requesting documentation of the successful completion of a formal PICC education course, as well as the precepting of skills and verification of competency for the PICC insertion procedure on an actual patient.
