PICC Precepting
Many of our students obtain hands-on PICC insertion experience on-the-job at their place of employment, which is acceptable when documented accordingly. If your employer is not able to provide PICC precepting or if you wish to gain formal PICC Qualification (PICC Certification) Infusion Knowledge has partnered with the Central Maine Medical Center Vascular Access Specialty Team who offers hands-on PICC Clinicals that will provide precepted live insertions in an acute care environment.
This 5-day PICC Clinical experience will begin with observation/simulation and then continue with hands-on PICC, Midline and Ultrasound Guided Peripheral IV insertions. Depending on how the student progresses and their comfort level with the procedure, you will have the opportunity for multiple one-on-one, instructor supervised, PICC, Midline and Peripheral IV insertions utilizing Ultrasound technology.
