Pain Management: Complying with The Joint Commission
Currently available for on-site contracted presentations only. If you are interested in scheduling a class at your facility, please contact us for a proposal.
This program is a comprehensive review of pain and its management in any care setting. The Joint Commission (previously known as JCAHO) requires a comprehensive pain management program to assess patients and manage pain. This course was designed around that requirement.
Content includes the components of pain assessment, differences between acute and chronic pain, the spectrum of pain medications, available delivery methods, administration, and alternative therapies. This course would be appropriate for any healthcare provider involved in the care of patients, as pain management is such an integral part of healthcare today.
The program I attended by Kay Coulter, CRNI has been of great value to me…it has increased my awareness of Pain Management…I was ignorant of the various assessment techniques of recognizing pain. Currently, I am putting together a “pain awareness” program at the hospital I work for. The presentation has provided me with the tools and the resources to put together a program that I know will increase the need of adequate pain management.
Daniel A. Charland, RN, CLNC
