PICC Qualification Program

The Infusion Knowledge, Inc. PICC Qualification Program (most commonly referred to as PICC Certification) is the only PICC training program of its kind, that not only offers comprehensive evidence-based knowledge taught by currently practicing PICC nurses; but also offers the opportunity for actual "hands-on" experience.

PICC Certification vs. PICC Qualification...

First, please understand the term "PICC Certification" is misleading; as there is no current national certification program that exists for PICC insertion.  When your employer (or potential employer) requires you to become "PICC Certified" they are in essence asking you to provide documentation that you have been properly trained to perform the PICC insertion procedure; which will have included classroom and actual hands-on experience.

Where to begin...

1st Step: Obtain Didactic Education
Our PICC Education Program consists of 3 separate classes:
PICC101: General Practice PICC Education
PICC 102: Save That PICC - Management of Complications
PICC 103: Advanced PICC Placement: The MST Ultrasound Procedure

The classes listed above are also available on DVD!!!

2nd Step: Obtain Hands-On Experience
Many nurses who attend a PICC training class are later precepted by a PICC qualified individual at their place of employment.  If you do not have precepting opportunities available at your facility; or if you wish to become PICC Qualified through Infusion Knowledge, Inc., we do offer hands-on PICC Clinicals, which will provide precepted live PICC insertions in an acute care environment.

I want to gain PICC Qualification from Infusion Knowledge, Inc...

We offer two levels of PICC Qualification; general and advanced.

General Level:
After completing PICC 101, PICC 102 and a Midline-Traditional PICC Clinical the participant will receive a certificate of PICC Qualification for the General Level.  The certificate will list classes attended, post test scores, and hands-on experience.

Advanced Level:
After completing PICC 101, PICC 102, PICC 103 and an MST-Ultrasound PICC Clinical the participant will receive a certificate of PICC Qualification for the Advanced Level.  The certificate will list classes attended, post test scores, and hands-on experience.
