PICC 103: The MST Ultrasound PICC Insertion Procedure

This 4-1/2 hour session will discuss MST (Modified Seldinger Technique) PICC placement utilizing Ultrasound technology.  This method of PICC placement is an important advance in PICC practice and is the preferred PICC insertion technique of the majority of infusion teams.  Content includes the MST PICC insertion procedure; principles of Ultrasound technology for PICC placement; a review of portable Ultrasound equipment; potential MST PICC insertion complications; and practice with portable Ultrasound equipment.  A post test will be given to assess learning.

Prerequisite: PICC 101 & PICC 102 and/or approved equivalents.
